Skin Selections

One of the things I love about this forum is the vast selection of skins. There is something for everyone. From a dark to light, fluid to fixed, and even a pink one.

So what are your thoughts on forums that dont give options?

As long as the theme is nice, I don't mind. Skin selection is just a luxury.

Some hosts like Invisionfree don't even have the option which is why there is no choice on Rapture as far as skins go but when we convert to Zetaboards then I will have that option which I will most certainly use.

I always had just one skin option when running FA because it was too much work to keep track of everything. The mods were a lot harder to install and update on multiple skins with phpbb, also the services required template edits..



Now that we are past that, I can put up a selection. There are many people out there who feel strongly for dark skins and wont stay active on a forum that uses a light skin because they dont like the way it feels. Same works the other way around.



Personally I dont care either way. As long as I can read the posts and reply, thats fine. But not everyone is as easy to please as me.



I do like being able to change up the skin once in a while to make things feel fresh.

I'm kind of the same way, actually. I like light skins, just as long as they're not too bright and hard on the eyes, but I also don't mind dark skins, as long as it's not too dark, and the posts are easy to read and what-not. I could care less if I join up with a forum and all they're using is the default skin, but again, it can't be too light, and it can't be too dark either. I too have a kind of selection going, or I did. If I don't I'll have to put it back up there...sorry, I'm still not feeling the greatest, so sorry in advanced if my posts don't make sense.

It doesnt bother me. This is the only forum that I have ever really bothered to change the skin on. But I find some backgrounds hard to read from, so if they have a background like that which I can't change, it would totally put me off joining the forum.
