Does it bother you whenever people smoke in the same room as you, perhaps whenever you're in the car with somebody? Personally, I just want to inform them that I don't smoke which should be enough for them to realize I'd appreciate for them to keep it away from me, if you want to smoke than have at it, but I think it's a matter of respect to not do it in a confined area with somebody that doesn't.

I can't stand it when people smoke around me. This actually happened just a few days ago. I had to open the window in the car to actually breathe okay.

Your comment's so nice that you posted it twice, anyway, I actually was in the car with my grandma who smokes, and I just find smoking in-general disgusting, if they like it then okay, but I just don't see the appeal and hate it being near me.

Sorry about that. My internet is really slow at the moment and I must have pressed Add Reply twice. Anyways, I was with my uncle and he did the same thing. Smoking is not ment to be done in public or in front of a ton of people. I hate it.

My husband smokes but I don't, when he does smoke (which is rare anymore), he makes sure I am not around him. I don't like people smoking around me and never will. It really aggravated me when I was pregnant and people smoked around me.

It kinda does... 's not like it smells good or is actually good for you...

I have a strict no smoking rule for my home and my vehicles. The friends I have that smoke respect the fact that I don't. They do not smoke around me. If they want to then they either wait or smoke outside. To me it's a smelly, disgusting and very unhealthy habit.

It does not bother me at all. My fiancee smokes so I am used to it.

So do I. Well not the vehicle thing but the house one.

I don't care tbh, people can smoke around me as much as they want.

ditto

so glad that its illegal to smoke in the workplace or in bars now

no one smokes in our our appartment.....if they want to they can go outside

no one has ever smoked in my car and if they tried it id pull up at the side of the road and leave them there

filthy disgusting habit

Sometime, just for your own amusement, compare the ingredients used in cigarettes and those in pipe tobacco and then do a search for studies on the ill effects of pipe smoking as compared to cigarettes.

I found it fascinating.

Smoking bothers my eyes, so no I don't like it. If someone is at my house or something I tell them not to, but if I'm in public or at someone else's place, I suffer through it.

OK, most of those in the thread don't want others to smoke in their house or car or while standing next to them, and neither do I.

But I think the line should be drawn when evangelical anti-smoking activists cough loudly at somebody who is smoking outside and even across the street from them.

What do you think?

It bugs me if I'm waiting at the bus stop and someone sits next to me smoking. Especially if they sit right next to me and there's plenty of space elsewhere.

When I'm in a car with people, no one smokes.

Although, if they did, it would bother me because 2nd hand smoking isn't healthy...

You may be glad of that new law, but when and where is the line drawn in regard to what the government allows us to do? As our liberties are being slowly chipped away, people like you bleat along with the rest of the sheep that it's such a great thing, but what happens when they make a law forbidding candy because that is unhealthy?

Think about it...

Impossible! How will they allow people and companies to make money?

The real risk maybe disallowing alcohol because... well, you know why...

Would this smoker even notice?

It's none of my business whether or not people smoke (as long as they don't do it near me), so unless that street is extremely crowded with asthma patients there's no reason not to let them smoke.
