I had today off because Juniors had to take their English regents and it just started heavy snowing about 30 minutes ago. Bloomberg, the mayor, said to look out for school closings. I really hope school will be closed tomorrow, because NY doesn't get these often, and it would be cool having two days off, and....i didn't finish my homework

Do you have any cool snow day stories to tell?

Nope

We had quite a lot of snow for a couple days last month but now it's just rain.

Nahh, excluding the last 3 years, I've barely seen any snow all my life. I hate snow though, so I don't mind.

Does 2 feet of snow and being without power for 19 hours count?

I've experienced that a few times over the course of my life - with the occasional extra foot (or two in '96-'97, I think it was...)...

The days after the mess were typically fun as a kid, playing around in the snow with my brother, and having two-three days off of school (Yeah, there was that much snow, and, ice, and other messiness). Though, I remember during '97...either in February or whenever that huge Blizzard was, the toilet in the house somehow got clogged and backed up and my father had to make a heroic trek by foot to a hardware store (that was open because apparently hardware is in high demand during times like that) and back to basically rebuild some of our plumbing.

My father, brother, cousin, aunt, and I also built a pretty impressive snow fortress thing before. It looked like something pretty close to The Empire Strikes Back.

All in all fun times as a child - living away from home, and a place where it snows is something I generally miss the most right now. I'm a pretty big fan of Winter, especially since it brings about skiing.

Dennis, I don't have any snow stories because it doesn't snow where I live. I'd love to hear your getting out of homework stories though.

Did you get the day off today?

They shut down our schools if we just get like an inch of snow, lol

We missed Tuesday and Wednesday of this week because we got two inches, and had two-hour delays on Thursday and Friday as well.

No interesting snow stories, though, we don't get more than six inches usually... which is still quite rare.
