Finally after five years, Sonic gets a new title! Sonic Frontiers is the franchise's first "open zone" game. It was released last Tuesday and boy what a game it is! I haven't made it too far in the storyline, but I'm enjoying my time so far with it. It's got a very high user rating on Metacritic, and even has a overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam. This is a big deal, sadly most game reviewers just don't know how to play Sonic well and gives the games poor scores because of it. They often bring up the franchise's bad games (yet the most controversial game has been out for almost two decades now). My only complaint is that the homing attack is mapped to another button again like in Sonic Unleashed, but I prefer it to be mapped to the jump button and be able to be activated via tapping the jump button twice like in most titles. I also don't like that Green Hill and Chemical Plant make a return yet again, but I can look past these few complaints and have a good time. I'm so happy, this has been a great year for the Blue Blur and yet we still have a new show coming next month too! If you have been playing Sonic Frontiers, what do you think of it so far?
