Speech! Speech!

English late last year. I didn't screw up, so I consider it a success.

Presentation in one of my classes. Had a funny powerpoint presentation to go with it...

Last time I did a speech was in high school. We had to make up a product then get in front of the class and try to sell it. Like an infomercial.. I forget what class it was for.

I invented Brain-be-here which was a shampoo bottle I decorated. Lets say you are having a bad day, sleepless night, or just cant think at all for some reason. You pop the cap and put the bottle to the side of your head, squeeze, and you instantly are alert, refreshed, can remember anything you want to remember, and can think / react smoothly.

That would be an instant hit.

I've given many presentations, but I don't really count those as speeches. To me, a speech is something you write and either read it or memorize it and say it out loud. Presentation speech-wise...a few weeks before Christmas. I had to present a shadow box I made.

Actual speech...back in Speech class my Freshman year.

I did a speech on George Washington once and I forgot most of what I was going to say.. The teacher said we can only look down at our index cards 5 times and she will be counting.

I hate doing speeches. Did a small one on Wednesday, went okish. I get so nervous around groups of people, even if I know them.

I was lucky and had the speech teacher that let us read it off the paper - no note cards, no memorizing.

I haven't given a speech for about 3 years. I suppose it was successful, I made it through without fainting.

I try my best not to give a speech at any occasion due to my disability to talk, I have a very hard time talking in a crowd even if the focus is not set on me. But the last time I gave a book review of sorts I did rather well I am a great reader however, I am not exactly a good speaker though, I feel I am improving to some extent.

The last speech I gave in English was last year. It was titled Should the NZ Police be an armed force? I passed it.
