Do you care about people spelling or grammar on forums? Do you get annoyed when people spell words that are so simple wrong? Discuss.

Yes, and yes. I'm compulsive about it

No because you never know if someone is foreign and trying to learn the language or has a learning disability. As long as I can understand them, its fine.

Yeah it annoys me but as Nebulous said, it's understandable if someone is foreign or has a learning disability.

I feel the same way. Even if it's a staff member who's spelling things wrong, I usually try to put up with it.

I think it is important enough. I try to practice my grammar and spelling because the more you do something, the more it becomes second nature to you. It's not that hard to use a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence and chuck a full stop at the end. Most browsers have spell check. It's not rocket science.

And a lot of foreigners, especially Europeans, write very well. Better than a lot of people who speak English as a first language.

The only time I point it out is when they are acting all superior and say things like uneduwated people irriate me, I like intelligible debate Then it's just hilarious.

A regular member posting with bad grammar is different than an admin or staffer. If it's the forum descriptions, or forum names--things like that--there should be no grammatical--or spelling errors. Otherwise, everyone is human and we all make mistakes--well, not me, cause I'm perfect..

I used to have a staff member on a previous forum who had incredibly bad grammar and spelling. It seemed to get worse as time went on. I talked to him a couple times about it but I never demoted him for it although it did actually bother me.

Of course! I try not to mind but it has always been a pet peeve for me. It’s mostly when people don’t capitalize or don’t use periods though… That normally bugs me the most since it doesn't take all that long to do. So long as I see a little bit of effort put into their posts and I could understand what they're saying they are good to go.

Yes it does! It's really caught on to me badly lol. Its okay if somebody is foreign but I would love for them to tell me first.

Gets stupid if they use a lot of slang or msn/texting talk, other than that I'm fine with it.

It annoys me if people do it on purpose because they can't be bothered to type full words.

if thy speek lyk dis thn its annyin
