I haven't personally, but I know someone who is. We all make jokes about him being aour freinds admirer, but we have all eyes on him just in case.
I was a victim of stalking and let me tell you it was one of the most frightening thing to go through. I had to change my e-mail address and leave forums because of it. It got so bad that I was afraid this person was going to show up on my door step one day. I found a website that helped me http://www.wiredsafety.org/cyberstalking_harassment/stalker.html along with contacting my local police department. It was my own fault for posting my e-mail address on a site and I will never do that again. I found out later that he was a mental patient that had access to the Internet even though he was in an institution. Lesson to be learned is be very careful the amount of personal information you put out there and (IMO) never post a picture of yourself or your home.
Yes. I crazed woman followed me around from forum to forum to flame me and start drama. Sending me hate emails every other day. She finally stopped one day..
In real life it was a girlfriend I had. She was only 18 and I was 22. She lost her virginity to me. She would call me 100 times a day from her number and restricted / blocked numbers. She would send me text after text. She used to drive up and down my street all hours of the night and day. She used to break into my garage if I didnt answer the door to see if my car was in there or not. She would hide out in the parking lot of my work to see who I went to lunch with. I worked at a store at the time so I would see her flash by at the end of the aisle or peeking at me from between shelves or whatever.
I could go on and on and on but that's enough for now. Its now a couple years later and she still sends me messages on myspace but the stalking has stopped.

An old friend of mine is getting dangerously close to being a stalker right now. He's not doing anything too creepy yet, but I'm keeping my eyes open. It's like his entire happiness revolves around this girl ô.ó

I'm glad you are keeping your eyes open but you can't be there 24/7. Stalking is not funny and can lead to criminal charges (as what happened in my case). Are you close enough to talk to him about this? Perhaps he needs some intervention (like counseling) to help him.
I had an ex girlfriend cyber stalk me for weeks sometime later after the break up back in February of 2020. She even tried to catfish me on a dating website I had an active account on & later confessed to doing it. Eventually she quit texting me and left me alone after she called CPS on me.
There was a situation on Reddit where someone dug around in my posts, figured out where I worked, and narrowed me down to my hobbies to track me to my employer (at the time). They contacted my boss's boss and told them something about a post I had made that was not threatening, racist, bigoted, etc. It was basically something about how kids are annoying, and they said I shouldn't be working there, I should be fired. Yadda yadda yadda. I deleted that profile and made a new one and make sure to go through my posts to delete any identifying information.
I was just telling someone about her the other day. She still lives on in my nightmares. Lol
I have had nightmares about my ex wife in the past and a few days ago.
What was she doing in these dreams?
