Starting of a new forum

What do you guys suggest I should do for a new MyBB general discussion forum?

1. Add some boards but not many with at least 10 threads in each forum board section?
2. Gather a team together before advertising the forum?

What else.. Post your ideas thanks!

I would say... don't bother. You've made a bunch in the past. And then dumped them. So I don't see the point if you're not planning on sticking with it for once.

I'm sticking with it, I'm always on my PC at least ten to twelve hours a day I can surely put in a lot of effort in to the forum even if it takes me couple of months for the forum to become active.

Forums don't become active and stay that way forever. It's an endless struggle for activity. Even this one gets slow sometimes. Gotta be dedicated and not give up even when things look bleak.

Thanks both means a lot. Yeah Nebulous I will be putting a lot of dedicated work in to the forum.
I only work two and half days a week and the rest are pretty much rest days on my PC.

I'm mostly on 12-15 hours a days lol on different forums but usually on my forums working my head off. But since my boards been completed I'm looking for a job to work on other forums as a mod or admin. I like to keep myself busy and working hard im them type of a guy lol. But anyways if your planning to keep your board up going for a long time then i suggest you put alot of work into it. Also its not that easy to get members to join your forum you will have to do alot of things to attract your guests so that they join and also keep your forum clean and tidy at all times just so members dont get confused.

Yeah it will take time but that time would be worth it.

Look at your schedule, can you dedicate enough time? Have a positive mind set, don't look at what others say negatively about you, don't look at bad experiences and think of it as you never had bad experiences.

Yes, I own Chillerr. For me, I've had to have a positive mind and never give up. It'd be great to see you over at Chillerr.

They have 2-3 light themes and 1-2 dark themes, i prefer dark themes lol. I think you should go for a theme that you like and its suitable for your forum

Yeah, I am more of a light themed person.. but having both light and dark and even a mobile theme is good for the community.
