If you are a teenager or perhaps a person in ther 20's, 30's, etc still living with parents...

Do you tell people to stay out of your room? If people have been in your room while you were out, can you tell?

Yup. No-one but me enters my room. If someone needs something out of my room, they should ask me and I'll get it... otherwise they'll never find it. My parents aren't allowed in either. My room is my private place - a place for me to go without having to worry about anything and having others in there sort of violates that personal space.

How can you not allow someone into a room of a house that you dont own?

Like I said, it's my private personal space and everyone needs to understand and respect that and that includes my parents.

Nobody needs to understand anything. You are living in their house for free. They can enter at any time for any reason and you cant do anything about it.

Clearly there are two sides to the coin here and you keep landing on one side and I on the other. We're gonna have to agree to disagree here on this particular topic.

Im talking about legalities. Not what you think you are entitled to. Until you pay for your own house or rent out a house, you are not entitled to any personal space. Granted your parents can allow you to have personal space but they can also revoke it at any time. There is not a damn thing you can do about it either.

I have nothing to hide in my room and don't mind if people go in there.

I do not like people going in my room, I like to have my own privacy and I pay my parents £10 a week towards my room, food and other stuff as I have a job.

I definitely wouldn't mind the company. This apartment doesn't have a room so I'm used to not having much privacy around here, haha.

I live on my own now, but the only person I ever told to stay out of my room was my brother. He's 3 years older than me, and used to pinch stuff

If I was living with my parents then how could it be my room? The house belongs to the parents and they have every right to enter any room in their own home. The only time you truly have your own room is when you are living on your own.

I don't like people to come in my room, but if they do then they do. It doesn't bother me, unless I am doing something like sleeping. lol.

Yes, but they still enter my room >,> Especially my little brother and sister who are little brats that force themselves into things.

Ya and for the most part they do but my brother always comes in here. I remember one time when one of my grandparents came in my room while i was all school and they though they find drugs.

Nothing to hide in my room.. I only go in there to sleep anyways.
