Do you think if an athlete uses steroids, he/she should be banned from the sport?

Do you think its anyone's buisness?

No they should not use steroids. Steroids can have harmful effects both mentally and physcially. Roid Rage anyone? Another problem is specific to us guys. The nuts can shrink badly...

The athelete should be banned. If the sport was going to be fair then all participents should start out on a simmilar natural playing feild. Steroids enhance performance and gives unfair advantages to those who play properly and are any good at that particular sport.

And as Psycho says, it does have every severe side effects, both mentally ad physically.

Steroids are not good for you at all, and the only time I believe they should be allowed to take steroids is for medical reasons, but they should inform their coach and shouldn't be played until the steroid boost has worn off.

Actually, in many cases the amount of steroids used for medical purposes is a lot smaller than the amount used for building muscle. i have used them for allergies and sinus infections.

I think its cheating as well. However if a player is caught, it should be his own personal buisness and not made public. They should give the person the option to retire from the sport... Then they can make up whatever reason they want.

I agree with you 100%. However, it can be tricky though, because if you're giving a medal to someone else since they cheated, then the media and general public is going to want an answer. But, I believe that medals should be given to them, but they should no longer be allowed to participate in the sport. If you can't have fun and don't enjoy the sport to the point you feel you need steroids, then sports aren't for you. Even if you do give the medal to someone else, it won't be the same, since you didn't get your moment.

Why is that? Just because he has a name the system should brush his cheating under the rug? Plenty of these steroid freaks have little kids that look up to them. Think what influence they are having in that aspect and also in the message that it sends; As long as you have money and a name, we'll keep your illegal activity on the down low. Just because he has a name the system should brush his crime under the rug?

He is a public figure and he renigs on a bunch of his own privacy being such.

Seriously???

Well lets look at this way, people who fail drug tests at their jobs just lose their jobs. The boss or the human resources/personnel department wont tell anyone why they got fired to protect their privacy. Why go through the rest of their lives labeled as a drug addict because they made some mistakes?

Its nobody's buisness. If they wanted you to know, they'd tell you.

The difference between the workplace and the sports is no one really looks up to the person in the office as much as athletes especially Olympics and pro sports. Kids want to be them and are willing to do what their idols do even taking steroids. Like it or not athletes are held to a higher standard because of the influence they have. The other thing is how long do you think the steroid thing would be kept secret? Someone would find out and publish it.

I like my private area big, thank you. No need to look big, but then make my ladies be shocked at my small dick.

I though it only affects the testicles..

Ban 'em. Steroids aren't a very fair pick-me-up to bring into the picture.

What about people who take caffeine pills? Should they be banned?

well i believe steroids are ok in moderation and to have them under control, the only reason why people outline steroids to be bad for you is because of the majority of people abuse them what causes negative effects on the body and far too much strain on your body that's why it can lead to fatal heart attacks and other physical problems, but most of the time i hear is it's too much strain on your body.

all these guys who think they are big and tough with their bursting biceps and chests certainly aren't going to be in later life if they carry on abusing them down the line.
