Perhaps it has something to do with how congress has something to lose if they piss people off as in the people who can drive up the money to get someone voted out so they instead piss off the people who have long since lost any power over anything that goes on in government otherwise known as the common man. Congress figures that they can wait out any president as they get one or two terms and they are out while a congressman can stay for as long as they are breathing and they can get voted in.
I have the feeling if congressmen had term limits then they would be more pushed to work knowing their time is about as limited as the President's time is.
Also I have the feeling that I wouldn't be so eager to see Obama go because I feel we as a whole will vote in someone far worse then what we have now who will make Obama seem good by comparison. Isn't that what happened when we saw Bush leave and Obama take over?
As for the impeachment talks, they are just talks and no one can or will be able to get anything done before Obama just leaves when his term runs out. it's too late to get any impeachment proceedings done that will result in an impeachment that doesn't come till after he leaves anyway that is assuming he is even impeached to begin with. This has more to do with catering to the Republicans for votes in the mid terms then it does with getting actual work done.
