Lots of great food to eat and explore while out in public, made by culinary professionals. But, are there any foods/meals you think are better made with store-bought ingredients and home cooked?

Everything is better home-cooked as long as you know how to cook it. You also have the freedom to season it to your taste and develop the recipe as you keep making it.

Well said and I agree with you.

I can make almost anything you can order in a restaurant, and make it with LESS salt but more seasoning, and usually at about a third of the price.

And what I can't fix, my wife can. Except she'll put more salt in it than I do.

And beyond that, my brother makes some of the best blackened fish I've ever had, and I still haven't been able to exactly copy either his seasoning recipe or his technique. But I'm trying.

DrLeftover will definitely be manning the grill at the next Off Topix BBQ. :P

I did the cooking for fifty ladies at the church's mother's day banquet.

The biggest compliment was when the lady that came in to speak and sing at the service later said it had been the best dinner at something like that that she could remember.
