Why do people like streaming/watching others play games so much?

Do you watch any gamers play games?

Who are your favorite streamers?

Used to watch nothing but let's plays on YouTube in the early 2010s, but stopped overtime. Streamers I did too, but also stopped. I watch maybe one friend at most anymore stream.

Because it allows people a sense of community as well as a chance to watch a game being played without having to throw down $70, or in some cases watch a game you don't really want to play anyway but are interested in seeing.

Very few. If I do, it's usually TheRadBrad.

I don't really have a favorite.

I avoid the large/big streamers cause it feels like you don't get this same feeling. They're way too large to properly interact with the chat.

I watch him too or used to. I need to go back to his channel, actually.

My daughter will do this for hours, I don't really see the point.

If I am interested in a game I will look up some game play footage to see what its like but I won't be watching as a pass time. :P

I watch some but I go more for Youtubers than streamers. Edited down content rather than hours of streaming.

I never really understood it either but I kinda started to get it when I popped into a smaller Dead by Daylight streamer (Genuine Chill Cast) a few times. I don't even know if they stream anymore but they were smaller so there was a lot more interaction between the chat and them and it was just fun hanging out in their chat and talking the game/horror movies/horror in general with them in between matches. Fun times were had.

Speaking of Dead by Daylight, another popular streamer for that game that I wasn't a big follower of but did watch on Youtube from time to time (Puppers) just passed away last week after a battle with ALS and clearly it hurt a lot of people watching his struggle and his GoFundMe for funeral costs is up to almost 30,000 after just a couple days.
