Stuck in an elevator/lift

Shouldn't that person be on the outside trying to fix the problem? Him being stuck in there with you is the worst place he could be.

No. He said his partner is checking the outside. He's checking the push button panel on the inside. Unless he's trying to give me the 'shaft' here by lying to me.
