Super Flu Outbreak

Honestly, I keep hoping we’ll eventually get to a point where we can predict flu strains well enough to build vaccines before they hit the general population. With how fast these outbreaks seem to spread, having that kind of predictive modeling could save a lot of lives and prevent the yearly scramble.

The frustrating part is that we’re closer to that future than people realize. The science is moving fast, but the politics around vaccines have gotten so messy that it’s hard to imagine the kind of long‑term investment and public trust we’d need to actually make it happen. It feels like even the best tools in the world won’t matter if half the country refuses to use them.

Still, I’d love to see us push toward that kind of proactive approach instead of always reacting after the fact. It would certainly help.
