Yeah, that was not an uncommon theme when it came to anything he didn't want to do.
I know how to do theme parks on a budget. No gift shops, we can go look at stuff, but I’m not buying anything more than maybe a $5 refrigerator magnet. Eat a big hearty breakfast at home, bring drinks and snacks in a backpack, do lunch off site in the middle of the day, for example Six Flags in Vallejo, CA has a Carls Jr. directly across the street so we don’t even have to drive anywhere.
Yeah, we learned in time, but we were novices then. We were too broke for the parks in the UK, lol, but even then we still had many trips to the theme parks ruined because he couldn't be bothered. Food in the parks is atrocious, we haven't done that in a long, long time, thankfully.
