(Sept. 1) -- A New York man plunged 39 stories from a Manhattan apartment building and crash-landed on a parked sports car. The car was totaled, but the man survived.

Thomas Magill, 22, was conscious Tuesday when emergency crews arrived and found his contorted body in the back seat of the red Dodge Charger that broke his fall.

He came down feet-first at like 100 mph, Andrew Petrocelli, a passer-by who witnessed the fall, told the New York Daily News. That's a miracle if I've ever seen one. He should be a goner.

Magill was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken leg, a collapsed lung and a shattered ankle. Witnesses told the paper he was very much awake and screaming about the pain in his leg as a medical team pulled him from the car.

I can't believe this. My car saved his life, Guy McCormack, a construction worker who had parked the car on the street while he worked nearby, told the New York Post. McCormack said Magill had landed in his wife's car.

Police told The Associated Press that Magill, a recent graduate of Fordham University in New York, had jumped from the building in an apparent suicide attempt.

On his Facebook page, Magill had written, I'm over it, according to the Daily News. The paper said his listed interests included being mean and making fun of people. His Facebook profile has since been blocked.

Lucky, very lucky. I find it funny how he's screaming about the pain, when he's the one who wanted to commit suicide. Karma. I bet he'll think twice about suicide now.

I wonder if the owner of that car is insured against falling people
