Anyone here Swim? How far can you Swim?

i can swim...but i can't do a lot of laps. when i was 14 i could, but not now.

I can swim but I do not swim weekly.

I can swim, used to do it weekly for the last two years but now I give up.

A bloody nuisance. I like the pool but it's not my ideal form of exercise...

I swim every chance I get, but I can not swim Olympic style or anything like that, but I know how to swim and like to swim. All this swim talk makes me wanna swim, too bad it is way too cold out.

Swimming is fun.

Underwater I can swim from one end to the other of my grandma's very long pool:

but once I get to the other side turn back, I can only make it about half way before my lungs feel like they are going to explode.

Swimming?

I love swimming, you can't get me out of the water once I'm in.

I can swim for hours and hours and I can swim pretty far..

Not like laps but like from one side of a river to the other kinda thing.

I like swimming from a dock to a bouey that's in the middle of the river or lake or whichever.

Or just swimming to the middle of the lake.

It's so much fun and I swim every chance I get.

My preferred swimming is the ocean, a river or lake.

I have a pool, so swimming's something I do a lot of in summer.

I can swim but I'm not very good at it and haven't been swimming in over 15 years!

I know that's kinda odd with me being in the Navy, right!



How did I get out of Boot Camp without learning?

I learned enough to get out of bootcamp which was:



- Step off of a 7 foot high platform into 12 foot deep water

- Surface...

- Swim the length of an Olympic sized pool (pool goes from 12 foot to 5 foot instantly)

- Fill Coveralls with Air and use them as a flotation device for 5 seconds

- Prone Float (Float on your face) for 5 minutes...



It took me 7 weeks to learn to do all this, and still barely passed!



I haven't swam since then and its been 2 and a half years since I joined! I am sure if the ship were to go down I'd be able to swim to save myself....if not! I'm SOL

I can swim. But I don't do it very often.

This is pretty bad to say. I only swim once a year and thats during the summer.
