A syllable is a unit of organization for a sequence of speech sounds. For example, the word water is composed of two syllables: wa and ter.

I just taught my daughter what syllables are. Now she is going around clapping her hands and counting the syllables in every word she can think of or every thing she sees.



She's been doing it for the past half hour. Are syllables really that interesting?
