Syniister announces retirement from Horrorcore

I find this to be a sucky thing, but I get what he's doing and hope good things happen for him! And warning, some language.

I posted up on the facebook last night that I will be leaving the horrorcore scene permanently. I decline to use the word “retired” because it was not a job, and I’m not 65 years old. I’m sure a few of my fans wonder why I have decided to do this… Truth is, I haven’t felt right about this scene since September 2009… I tried to see if it was still worth it to me by releasing an extremely short EP titled Sickness Reinvented, but in the end I still wasn’t fully fulfilled by it. I plain and simple have no desire to make this style of music anymore.



You see, the blunt and honest truth is this scene is plain garbage. There is an extreme lack of talent and everyone and their fuckin’ mamma thinks their some kind of horrorcore rapper. Horrorcore is easy to get into because it takes no talent to begin with… I’m a perfect example. Everyone talks about the same bullshit, trying to be the scariest they can be and rap about the same bullshit everyone else is. Shock value does NOT translate into talent. Call it distasteful but its the truth and if you think this is about you, it probably is. From here on out I’ll be focusing solely on being an audio engineer and working with TALENTED musicians. I am MORE than happy to leave behind a scene of nothing but negativity and a lack of unity. Very VERY few people in the scene hold my respect anymore. I’m not gonna sit here and bullshit you guys, I’m gonna be 100% straight up and tell it like it is.

Well its not like either one is all that terrible. Its just like any other Genre with good and bad.

Well in the Horrorcore that I've heard, haven't really heard much screaming. Unless they got some 'murder scene' going on or something.

Think horror movies. But instead its more Music. Acts like Sicktanick, Razakel, Smallz One, Lyssa Cer, Dark Half, and many others.
