UNITED NATIONS — U.N. experts say radical splinter groups within the Taliban movement that are strongly opposed to any negotiation with Afghanistan's new government are gaining prominence.

The experts monitoring U.N. sanctions against the Taliban said that despite gestures by the international community and the Afghan government in support of reconciliation, "there are currently no clear signals that the Taliban leadership is willing to engage in a political negotiation in a meaningful way."

While a minority in the Taliban leadership continue to signal that they are willing to talk, the experts said in a report to the Security Council circulated Thursday that the central leadership is not only resisting but attempted to disrupt the political process by targeting members of the government body tasked with organizing peace talks.

The words Taliban and Peace will never belong in the same sentence.
They are killers and murderers and no nothing of peace, love or God

who created and funded the taliban? :|

and just because the afghan people don't want the united states' and the un's to spoon feed their agenda's and vision upon them doesn't mean they are "radical"!

it's just like saying a country took over america and americans don't want the oppressors new type of government and law... so those americans that reject the new way of their life are classed as "radicals"...

nice try with your fallacy and deceit...

but it is not their country, they are just trying to take it over using extreme violence and using religion to suppress people. There are a lot more people in Afghanistan than those taliban feckers, people who want peace and freedom.

i said the afghan people, not the taliban, but the cia and the usa are saying that the taliban are indeed afghan people, so which is it? are the taliban afghan people or not now?

I don’t care who the country belongs to, if they support Taliban tactics kill them all along with any that would support or welcome there tactics.

Seaside's got a point there, Ghost...but, please, proceed anyway. :|
