Prison officers must have done a doubletake when they took a mugshot of a teenage drink driver wearing a t-shirt featuring his previous mugshot.

Robert Burt, 19, from Pittsfield, Maine, was wearing a bright orange t-shirt with his previous mugshot emblazoned on the front, reports The Smoking Gun.

Burt posed for the new photograph at Somerset County Jail after he was ordered to spend two days in prison for drink driving and driving without a licence.

A coworker of Burt's at a local restaurant created the t-shirt with a reproduction of the booking photo taken by police after he was arrested in June.

Before starting his sentence he wrote on Facebook: "Going to do my 48 hours whoo." He later changed his profile picture to the mugshot and wrote: "I'm out b*tchs."

Burt, who happily wore the orange shirt for his jail photo, subsequently wrote on Facebook that corrections officers made him hold the slate in a way "so you could see the shirt."

With this attitude, he'll be right back drinking and driving as soon as he can.

What do you think?

It's kinda funny though. He won't be laughing when he ends up in jail for an extended stay though.

He has proven that he's an idiot.

I mean the judge, not the kid.

It's the kid's well documented second offense, he thinks it's funny that he only has to do two days?

Anybody want to bet he'll be back?

What does he have to do to end up with a punishment he won't laugh off and that may straighten him out BEFORE he kills somebody?

he's pretty young, so you can be pretty sure that he'll be back a few times before he either gets himself a long stretch because of vehicular manslaughter or gets smart enough to at least stop driving drunk , if not quit drinking completely.

you're a pretty serious drinker. did you ever drive drunk? i never really liked being drunk, so i never drank very much, but i did have to drive home smashed once when i was in college. i was scared shitless and stuck to the side streets all the way. never did it again. the only other times i found myself drunk needing to drive somewhere, i'd sleep it off first.

i'm definitely in favor of mandatory minimums for DUI. i don't think they should be let off easy more than once. minimum of six months for the next one, steadily increasing for each subsequent one.

I haven't been behind the wheel after having anything more than a beer in well over twenty years.

Before that, I might have 'pushed it' a couple of times, but not on a regular basis.

It is simply not worth the risk.
oh boy, ain't that the truth? i only did it once and knew better than to do it again and i wasn't even considering the consequences of getting caught, just the possibility of wrecking the car and hurting myself or somebody else.
