Some forum creators or internet users in general have test forums, these are forums made for purposes of testing out codes, storing files and information. Do you have one? Personally, I used to create Invision Free skins and would store them on a website, that wasn't really a website but as said just a place to showcase my work. Eventually, I lost interest and as opposed to closing the forum down and forgetting about it for good, I made all of the sections besides where the skins are hidden from everybody but me and starting using the website to test modifications and codes that I found for my actual forums but didn't want to try them out on my actual forums. As a writer, I also post all of my topic ideas, and articles before releasing them to the public. (as well as storing them on a flash drive) Whenever I am going to have to reboot my computer, I will jot down links and important information regarding things that I need to reinstall and rebookmark.

I make them when I need them then delete after. I only have the need for a test board every once in a great while. Like a couple times a year.

I install them on my computer on an as-needed basis. I think I've got MyBB and phpBB running right now...
