So, a long time ago in my sophomore year of High School I was sitting in our Spanish class where we had a substitute teacher for a week. Luckily she spoke Spanish as well.
Anyway, she told us that there will come a time in your language learning journey where you reach an Ah-Ha Moment. She said it where you have been studying one thing for so long that eventually it suddenly clicks and you understand it.
Now the Ah-Ha Moment doesn't span the whole language. You're not going to be studying Spanish for a year and go, "Ah-Ha!" and suddenly know the whole language.
But she said for different parts of the language (and typically the most confusing parts) you'll be studying and studying and studying and suddenly get it.
I've already had this moment many times in Spanish.
However I was reviewing directions in Japanese and how to say things like, X is infront of Y. X is between Y and Z. X is below Y. etc.
It's one of the many things in Japanese that has confused me no matter how much I studied it.
But today I had my Ah-Ha moment with those directions after practicing them many many times and suddenly I was like... I see why they do that now...
And now I'm so happy and hope to have an Ah-Ha moment with Te-Form Verbs because those are still confusing as crap.
