What is the closest you've come to accidentally killing yourself? What happened?

I was on the bay bridge (the bridge that connects oakland to san francisco) and my car broke down ...but before it did it let out a huge cloud of smoke and on a bridge there is no where to pull over so I was stopped in one of the lanes. Through the cloud behind me I see head lights, I braced myself for impact (death, my life flashed before my eyes) and my foot pushed on the breaks because my legs stiffened as I braced my self.. I guess the hummer saw my break lights and jerked the wheel and just hit the side of me instead of smashing into me. Needless to say i jumped out of that car (as soon as the shock wore off) because i didnt want someone else smashing into me. A few minutes later the highway patrol pulled up and pushed me off the bridge. I called my friend's aunt who lives in san francisco to come get me. The next day I had my car towed home.

On my 24th birthday, I went to a beach to drink by myself, but of course ran into some ladies and couple guys. They joined the party offered to pitch in more booze to make the party more fun and less lonely. Anyways, I went swimming and I went under, I had to get CPR and I woke up in the hospital. My chest had never been so sore and bruised ever, two weeks. But I stopped breathing for 2 minutes, I don't really remember any of it.

A few months later my appendix burst, but luckly, got to the hospital fast by ambulance.

Got an angel or something over me.

Both life awakening experiences for me.

I had appendicitis when I was 5 years old. Had to have an emergency operation because they were about to burst.

Mine did burst and I do not think i'll ever feel a pain or such a disgusting feeling like that ever again inside me. Luckily they got there within a good time limit and was able to iv me, strip me naked and by the time I was at the hospital, I was in so much agony, that I was naturally passed out and all I really remember is waking up in recovery.

I got a nice scar from it. Right by my belly button.

I don't know how many times I've had to explain the story.

Scary thing though is, when one of my kids complain about abdomen pain, I get paranoid.

Mine is in that area, more towards the right.
*looks down at self... yeah its there*

I was driving a four wheeler in a pit and I looked back to see if my brother was watching, because I wasn't looking where I was going I didn't notice a huge jump so when I turned and looked ahead the four wheeler was half on the jump and the other wasn't so I flew in the air and the four wheeler was on top of me.. I remember seeing the four wheeler above me and I thought I was dead. Surprisingly it only landed on my ankle and ever more surprisingly I didn't break my ankle or leg.

Another time when I was way younger maybe about 5 or 6 my sister and I almost drowned in a lake. My sisters heart actually stopped and the paramedics pronounced her dead. She did eventually start breathing again, and she's still alive to this day. But that would be another time I came incredibly close to death.
