The Currency War Breakdown
By Samuel Henderson (ShibuyaShadow)

Chapter 1: Reduced to Rubble

It is the year 2027. It has been 3 years to the date since the Currency Wars caused the end of civilized society. A man, appearing to be in his twenties, steps out of a large, steel-armored skyscraper in what used to be the Empire State Building. He is in a home-made balcony made out of a punched-out window for a door, and steel frames supporting the balcony. As the young man with his robotic body but majorly human organs steps on to the balcony, everyone on the ground below, or rubble, ends what they are doing and bows down to the man. He is Samuel Shibuya, King of the Mohawk Tribe.

"Rise, my subjects!" he says, laying out his robotic hand. The young man has a robotic, solar-powered body, with a human heart and brain, and his head with a slight tan and black side-hair with a pink mohawk. His offical title within the tribe is King Shibuya the First, as he is the first king, along with founder of the tribe. "I order all men who are subject of the King to find new recruits for the Mohawk Territory. Failure to do so will have such subject labeled as non-loyal and have the Mark of the Unloyal stamped upon their head, impossible to erase." he says as he heads back in to the building.

The Currency Wars was a short war fought from 2024 to 2025, where the ability to print money had been made impossible and countries fought on what to do next, eventually causing the end of society after the Battle of London, a short battle where it was agreed all countries must fold operations, so many tribes and kingdoms popped up after that. "Bring me a prisoner to tune my robotic parts!" King Shibuya orders his servants, as he had been moving rather slowly recently. Any king of the Mohawk Tribe must have their regular, "un-pure" human body replaced with a pure, robotic body, making them clean of impurities compared to their subjects.

Eventually, a young prisoner who was guilty of saying negative statements about King Shibuya was brought in. He was let out of his handcuffs, but even before he could grab the parts needed to tune up the King's body, the prisoner grabs a laser gun and aims it towards the King's head. "You better allow freedom of speech for the Kingdom subjects, or you die!" the prisioner says as the King stays still, as part of his memory programming for when something like this happens.

END OF CHAPTER. CHAPTER 2 COMING SOON!

@Nebulous: Thanks! I love sci-fi apocalypse stories so I figured I'd write one, this being my first time writing one. :)

Apologies for the double post, I just wanted to make sure people know I'm now putting this on DeviantART along with here.

Cool, I thought that place was just for pictures.

Thank you! Here's some facts about the Currency Wars world while you wait:
  • Not only in this world is the Mohawk Tribe a territory, but it is seen as sort of a cult, as subjects in the tribe must worship the King.
  • The Mohawk Tribe includes all of Manhattan, some of Queens, and a colony in Houston, Texas, where the King was born and raised.
  • The robotic body the King has is considered to be pure of any impurities in the tribe, so only the King can wear it, as he is chosen as, say, the holy one in the tribe. Think of it as the King being clean and his subjects being dirty, and unwashed.

Here's also a short biography on the King:

King Samuel Shibuya the First was born in 2001 in Houston, Texas, under the name Samuel Henderson, was a rebellious teenager, living in a low-class neighborhood. He was arrested at the age of 13 for trying to steal money from an ATM and spent some time in jail for that. He never graduated high school and ended up homeless in New York City until a group known as the People for the Eradication of Government, or PEG, came around and he joined, eventually becoming it's leader. Once the PEG seperated New York from the US, under his leadership, the Currency Wars started. Eventually during the Battle of London, which was under his leadership, the Treaty of London was signed, winding down all governments worldwide, and giving control to whoever could claim land first. Henderson established the Mohawk Tribe over New York City and had a vision that his subjects should worship him, and that he would be impure unless he got his body replaced with a pure one. After founding the tribe, he changed his name to King Samuel Shibuya the First, and claimed the lands of Manhattan, Queens, and Houston, Texas, which he rules over still today.

(btw I was born in 1995, I just adjusted it to the setting)

Very interesting and very well written!

I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter!

Here's Chapter 2, hopefully I'll have some concept art soon! :)

Chapter 2: The Hardships

The King stood up as the mad prisioner kept holding the laser gun to his head. "You dare want to kill the great King Shibuya, criminal untouchable?" he exclaims, as he forces the laser gun out of the prisoner's hand. The prisoner struggles but due to the King's ultra-strength, is ale to get the gun within 5 to 10 seconds. "Guards! Take this filth to processing! I order him the unforunate curse of the Mark of the Unloyal!" the King says as the prisoner yells "No! Anything but the Mark!" out of fear.

The Mark of the Unloyal is a lifetime un-removable tattoo that untouchables who have sinned against the King's wishes multiple times get. It is in the form of the word "Unloyal" that is stamped on the prisioner's head and remains there for the rest of the prisoner's life, and is permenant, cannot be removed in any way, not ever the harshest chemicals can remove it. It is stamped on there to show to Royal subjects that said prisioner should be shamed and not interacted with, and can only interract with other Unloyals.

As the King and the guards arrive in the processing room of the Royal Subject Database, which is a bland, dank room with a machine that has many needles used for brainwashing recruits into honoring King Shibuya, a servant gets the stamp ready as the guards lock the prisioner into a chair restricting him from escaping. The servants wear blue suits, are very skinny, and are bald with a rather large scar on their head from where they were programmed to become servants. The servant hits the stamp hard on the prisioner's head, causing the "Unloyal" mark to show up very well. "I hereby declare that this subject is an Unloyal Untouchable and shall be the scum of the Tribe for the rest of their life!" the King declares as they modify his citizenship record to show he is an Unloyal.

The prisoner is released from the building and into the Tribe as people going down the way stare and laugh at the prisoner. The King then heads back to his estate, when he sees a group of people trying to cross into the Mohawk Tribe land. They seem to be a rather poor group of people with beat-up clothing and are very, very skinny, to the point where their ribs show a small bit. "You there! State your purpose here!" the King yells at the people.

"Please sir, we are just refugees from the New Soviet Land. Please do not kill us." one says in a very weak voice. "We came here because we heard great stories of King Shibuya, and how well he treats his servants.". In other countries, it is often thought that the way that the Mohawk Tribe treats it's citizens is very good compared to other countries. "So, you want to worship the great King Shibuya huh? State how you'll help me and I will decide from that if I kill you, or let you become servants of me." the King says. They explain that the New Soviet Land has been very third-world for a long time, ever since the Soviet hovercar company, "Sovetta" had closed it's doors causing 90% unemployment in the land. They state that they would be willing to do anything for the King, including being his servants. As the King starts to respond, the people crossing pull out guns, as they are not really refugees but are spies for the land. This is the start of the events leading to the Soviet-Mohawk War.

Gosh, you are so very talented. Awesome chapter!

Chapter 3 is up!

Another excellent and interesting chapter!

Perhaps the King needs to keep some spare robotic limbs in storage. Either that or get himself a bodyguard. Or would that be a robotic limb guard?

Question: Does the King have a Queen?
