A film trilogy based on the novels by Veronica Roth. The three Sci-Fi Action movies are: Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant from 2014 to 2016. Stars Shailene Woodley & Theo James.

Set in dystopian future. Their society is broken into six factions. Abnegation (the selfless), Amity (the peaceful), Candor (the honest), Dauntless (the brave), & Erudite (the intellectual). With the sixth one being the Factionless, for those who were cast out.

I found the first & second movies to be quite good, with the third one to be the best yet.

Did you watch this series? If you read the books, how did they compare?

I missed watching the series. Wonder if I can find it somewhere. Love to see it.

I loved the movies and the novels. Shailene Woodley played the role of Tris really well I thought!

I think I watched the first movie but I don't think I saw the other 2 movies though. I remember seeing the trailers and stuff for them.

Were the movies as good as the novels?

Like most stories a lot more details are found in novels in comparison to movie adaptations however, in my opinion the movies were very good just like the novels.

Thank you for your reply. I'm going to look and see if I can find the series somewhere.

I agree with Sharon. The novels usually hold more details. In the case of this series, the movies stuck pretty closely with the books.....they didn't stray too far from one another (not in my opinion, anyway). But the movie adaptation are just that.....an adaptation. They are making that book in movie form and they can't put every single thing in the movie. Otherwise, the movie would be 14 hours long and no one would be able to watch it.
