Indeed. The way Amy and Rory were forced off the show is just... just... bleh. It's like the authors were eager to get rid of them and didn't care about putting much effort into coming up with a more decent way of doing it.

TARDIS couldn't land in the same year and at the same location where the Weeping Angel sent them without blowing up the Manhattan? So? Couldn't the Doctor have landed it a year later and / or somewhere outside the Manhattan? Amy and Rory would still be there & alive. A year older, but alive.

Exactly! Heck I read a fic where the 12th Doctor rode a bus into the city to get them back. And agreed about the way they were taken off being bleh. How the Hell does nobody see the Statue of Liberty's big green butt IN the city and not freak out!?
