What event in the future do you hope to be alive for? It can be something that's more than likely to be created/happen in the future or something far off and science fictiony.

If they happen, I'd like to be around to meet my grandchildren and be some sort of influence in their lives. :)

That's a good one.

I think for me, I'd like to see medical advances like working prosthetic replacements that mimic human body parts completely. You know, not made from a 3D printer where you can barely close your claw. I'm talking like...Ghost in the Shell kind of prosthetic, cybernetic replacements and enhancements. And maybe like...being able to put someone in a cryogenic state and reanimate them without any kind of brain damage.

That would be cool. Advances definitely need to be made replacement body parts. With our technology we should have cyborgs by now! :P

Right? Well, I can understand not being able to take brains out of people's skulls and implant them into a cyborg body like they did in GitS, but even then sometimes people don't take well to the transfer. xD I think with how much technology is exploding that we'll get there soon enough. There are already such amazing advancements in just the last 20-30 years. Imagine what we'll do in another 20-30.

We're getting there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HAL_(robot)#Mechanics

A powered exoskeleton that intercepts neural signals to body parts and moves accordingly. It's designed to help disabled/infirm people.

Building on that, a Korean shipyard outfitted its workers with self-supporting exoskeletal frames that enabled them to lift 30kg with no strain whatsoever on the wearer, and it's estimated that the final build (the ones used were prototypes) will enable wearers to pick up and carry 100kg. Kinda like a humanoid forklift truck.

Yeah, definitely. We're on our way, but it's going to take a long time to actually replace an entire human body. That won't be for a long while.

i hope that i can live long enough to see my daughter become president..she already expresses interest in it. Weve never had a female prez..its time that we do..when i asked her what do you think of obama..she gave a sourpuss expression ha ha.

Yeah, you probably shouldn't wish for that considering no one's going to allow a kind-hearted, innocent person with innovative ideas who isn't easily bought by money and power to be president. Tell her to go another route. xD It's a nice, dream, though!

Awesome! I'd like to have one of those robotic suits and be super strong. :P

There's two things that I'd love to hopefully be alive to see. The first of these is to see humans return to the surface of the moon (and maybe even Mars at some point); had Nixon & Co. not taken us off-the-rails w/what eventually became the Space Shuttle, maybe we might already be back, who knows...

The second thing's a more personal thought for me, but I would love to see a world where, when someone comes out of the closet, regardless of whether they're an athlete or a celebrity or someone equally well-known, it doesn't make the news like it does nowadays. When that day arrives, that'll be a sign that the LGBT community has - to me at least - truly become an equal part of American society.

Or when someone kisses their significant other who happens to be of the same sex, it doesn't make news and we treat it like we would a heterosexual couple kissing. I completely agree!
