The Mountains Near Your Home

Well, in northeast Tennessee, USA, where I live, there are the Blue Ridge mountains to the south and lesser known Clinch and Cumberland mountains to the north. Well, the Cumberland ones are up in what is known as "coal country". Anyway, I've never understood why nobody has wanted to make a theme park there like they have in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

What mountains are up in your neck of the woods? At my exact point, are the Bays Mountain chain which is a sub-section of The Tennessee Valley - which is part of The Great Valley stretching from New York I think. I have lived also in the Clinch (Lebanon VA) and Cumberland areas (Dante VA) last year.

While it's not particularly known for its towering mountains, New Jersey is home to some rugged terrain, including 196 named mountains, the tallest and most prominent of which is High Point (1,803ft/549m).

No mountains around here sadly, the nearest would be the Peak District but none of those are very big, just a few hours to be in Scotland or Wales with slightly more impressive peaks (but still small on global scales).

No mountains where I live. Just hills & prairies as far as the eye can see.

We don't have any mountain near us but it would be beautiful to live close to mountain. One of my favorite places to visit is Utah - there are many magnificent mountain views there.

We are only a few hours away from the Rockies, if you hit a hotel in downtown Calgary the view is great.

Actually, I am living in the mountains. It is one of the tourist attractions in my country and also called the "Summer Capital of the Philippines." If you have the chance, you can visit Baguio City, Philippines.

No mountains around here but we have a couple of beaches a few miles away. There is a beach resort as well
