Well forums have evolved greatly over the last decade (2000 - 2010).. How do you think forums will evolve during this new decade? How do you think forums will be in 2020?

I haven't been around long enough (in the forum area) to comment on how they evolved, but i can see the majority of new forum software's running completely on Ajax.

Same lines as Griffin. I've only been foruming since 2007. But I have a feeling that when 2020 comes around, forum owning and foruming in general will be a lot more advanced than they are now. I never saw the start of forums as I was still in elementary school, so I don't know what the very first forum was like, but I have a feeling that things will be a lot more advanced, and possibly complicated, then they are now.

I didn't really notice anything different from 2004 to now. But the only different thing is that I used to really go on forums made by proboards.

One thing I can definetly forsee for 2020 is advertising being a lot more difficult than it is now. We all think advertising our forums now, when 2020 comes around it'll probably be just as bad, if not worse. So that's one thing I can see happening, is advertising being more difficult.

Why do you think that?

I think in terms of technological advances, there won't be anywhere near as many as there was in the last decade.

Well, you guys know how forums are being created almost every day as it is now. Who knows, maybe forum owning will increase in popularity and maybe it won't? Maybe it'll be much easier to promote forums in 2020. It's hard to say, for certain.

I agree. I think everything in forums are going to be mainly ajax in the future.

To me, it seemed like forum owning got really popular back in the early 2000's

I don't know much about the history of forums, as I have only been doing it for three years. That'd be something fun, though, to look up the history on forums in general.

Ah. Yeah. Trip down Memory lane basically.
