Sadly it looks like the feral animals in Australia will be on the losing side.

The government wants to kill around two million of them after they (the feral cats that is) wiped out 29 species, according to the Washington Post.

‘By 2020, I want to see two million feral cats culled, five new islands and 10 new mainland “safe havens” free of feral cats, and control measures applied across 10 million hectares,’ Gregory Andrews, who is Australia’s threatened-species commissioner, told the Washington Post.

He will get it done by any means necessary it seems, with poisoning, shooting and baiting all on the table.

Mr. Andrews did stress this cull was just for feral cats and not the domesticated ones.

A pet is a life time responsibility its a shame it has got to this stage! It is mankind that creates the problems and now the animals pay for it. They wont be able to distinguish between feral and domestic animals, and most doing the killing wont care. Pets will be killed and the government know this. It's barbaric.
