We gamers have some things we dislike in gaming, so mention those that in your opinion you don't like and why.

For me, it's the excessive use of QTE's in games. Also games with very confusing puzzles.

Definitely confusing puzzles, but also unnecessary ones that would've been better as a something different or cut completely. I also hate PVP. I'm not good at it and I have little patience.

Games that are punishing.

I hate games that add these random events that insta-kill you if you're not prepared and where the only way to be prepared is by memorisation. So you have to either replay everything from your last save game costing you precious time on something you've already done or look up walkthroughs all the time.

Or games that don't play by their own rules. In guild wars 2 for example you have this "block" skill which basically negates all damage from an enemy's attack. Originally it worked against all attacks, but in their newer bossfights that were added later half the attacks suddenly became unblockable. As a class that relies heavily on those blocks to survive it was extremely annoying to have to memorize every attack telegraph to know whether or not it could be blocked. Rule inconsistency like this annoys me a lot and if I die because of it, it's often a ragequit because it feels like the developers are cheating.

Which brings me to my last point: bad telegraphs. Nothing is more annoying than a OHKO attack that looks the same as every other auto-attack , because there's no way to react to it.

Then you'll hate the Demon's Souls/ Dark Souls games then.

OT:
- Water levels. They're just so boring to me.
- Graphic Whores. Those who scrutinize/criticize a game mostly on how a game looks.
- When games hold your hand through things.
- When games are too generous and won't let me earn things myself. (Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire when they just gave you Latias/Latios instead of letting you catch it yourself.)
- Everything about Dark Souls 2. (Especially when it came down to making me have to constantly move forward.)
- The creepers in Minecraft.

Games that are overly time consuming and have way too much level grinding. JRPG's in particular.

AI that somehow cheats. Examples:

If an NPC doesn't see or hear me, how can he / she know that I'm here? Perhaps they can smell my presence (in the Force)? :P

If I just killed every single enemy in the room, stepped outside the room for a moment and quickly returned to it, how can it contain new live enemies? The room was in my sight the whole time, and I didn't see anyone entering it, so where did they come from?

Inhuman accuracy with inaccurate weapons wielded by humans at long distances.

Stupid teammates who spend more time getting stuck at every corner than doing something useful.

Being tasked to protect someone whose idea of being protected is running in front of me directly into my firing line, just as I'm about to pull the trigger.

I might list more stuff later.

DS and DS2 were great. Infuriatingly difficult, but still a good game.

More in gaming culture than games themselves but, the "PC Master Race". You're no better than someone with a console just because you can get 10303498538753853 FPS in 20K :)

Abbrievations, I'm not even sure if that is the right word.

Like in Final Fantasy, people I raid or dungeon with, if that are tanks (they take the boss one on one and hold it in a more strategic position for the rest of the team) in the chat box they put OT or MT ..... at first I was like what the hell does that mean. Now I think it means Off tank or Main tank.

PvP is player vs player
NPC is .........................I've forgotten............. Non Player Character thats it, Thanks Google.

@KAGE what does QTE mean?!

Really annoyed me when I started playing, that people EXPECT you to know what everything means. Well Newflash, some people have never played a MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game) before!

EDIT: Sorry that turned into a rant :p

@KAGE what does QTE mean?!

I'm no KAGE, but: Quick time event

Basically, this:

0:32 - 0:42

The game gives you a brief moment to push the button (or a combination of buttons) that appear(s) on the screen in order to perform something super fancy, like a finishing move that will put the poor bastard you're fighting with out of his miseries. :P

Ohh I see. Yea I don't really play much with that in, except wrestling. But I don't like modern wrestling games.

Having to re-do stuff, unskippable cutscenes, but my biggest problem is the achievement grind - I love doing that, but sometimes games will make it exorbitantly harsh. I'm not talking about just any 'hard' achievements, as they're satisfying to get in the end, but more like having an achievement sent that requires you to co-op for something that's no longer popular, so it's just impossible to get it. Imagine grinding for 62/63 trophies and finding out the last one is simply unachievable due to the example I gave.

Apart from that, I think another type of achievement I really dislike is the one where you have to re-play and finish the entire game /multiple times/ just to unlock it. Maybe if it told me to re-do EVERYTHING just once, that's fine. But going over it multiple times just to get a single trophy? Fuck that.
