What am I supposed to think about?

Well I thought about how I thought it was a girl, right up until the end when he said his name was Daniel.



I thought about how brave he was to kiss a new boy in front of classmates, knowing he would draw their wrath. Most people would just steer clear.



I thought how horrible it was that a classmate could get a gun, just like that. It's far too easy to get hold of a gun in the USA imo. And how he could shoot him, just because he's gay. It's very reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan. I also thought how horrible that he could find other mates who would condone a shooting and help beat someone up, just because they're gay. Again, very KKK in attitude.



I thought how great it was that those boys stayed together and helped other kids in their situation.



And the thing that I think you are supposed to think is that the killer was cleaning floors in Burger King, which shows he's not a mafia don or the incredibly clever person he thought he was. It also made me wonder why the hell he wasn't still in prison! Prison sentences are NOT long enough! And it shows that he is going to spend his life doing dead-end jobs because he's made himself virtually unemployable. So shooting someone for something like being gay has backfired on him. What does he have to show for it? And who would want to be with him when he is such a low-life scum-bag (although there always seem to be people who do!) Whereas the two young men have worthwhile lives and purposeful jobs.



As Daniel says, the bully thought he was better than Daniel but now Daniel has the good life whereas the bully has nothing.



But Daniel is a better person than me. I'd have dropped food on his clean floor and squished it in or I'd have kicked his dirty bucket water over 'accidentally'. Daniel thinks he got his comeuppance. I think he should have served more jail time. He obviously got a reprieve because he was a minor. I don't agree with that. Some people are evil and need to be kept in prison. Jamie Bulger's murderer proved that. They spent a fortune teaching him how to live in society but he's back inside because he's evil scum!

I guessed he was a he. I never expected the shooter to be some criminal mastermind, just some ass. I thought it was sorta interesting that they were still together... On the whole I didn't think about it much at all.
