This video says it all: emergency calls reveal how disturbed many people are when they actually encounter open carry extremists.

Every comment I read is absurd and idiotic. It's Texas. Guns are normal. I've been shooting since I was three. Glad to see there point was made

Liberalism is a mental disorder!

As a New Zealander, I see America's obsession with guns and 'open carry' as just plain weird. The rest of the world looks on with incredulity. Thank goodness for "Mom's Demand Action for Gun Sense..." you raise the credibility of America or at least help to compensate for the unbearably embarassing man boys carring their guns and bandoliers.

Bullets. One has muzzle discipline and the other is pointing at people while pulling the trigger

This would've not have happened if they were black, they would've been beaten or killed and then false reports

how do you feel about open carry and how people react to it?

I would be nervous if a group of men was walking down the street carrying guns.  Not gonna lie...

The fact that cops have the authority and are required to practice safety, that they are trained many hours in using them, required to make a report if a bullet is ever fired makes me feel slightly better than a random dude walking down the street with an AR-15 strapped to his back just 'cause he likes it. Sure, he may have training and practice, it's possible. And he may have restraint, but policemen are held responsible by the law not to use their weapons unless deemed absolutely necessarily. That's not to say they ALL do. Many, if not most, do (considering how much the media sensationalizes when police actually do use their weapons), so that's why it worries me less to see a cop carrying a weapon as opposed to my next door neighbor.

And for the record, I've not seen groups of cops walking down the street with visible guns either. Yes, I've been next to a couple in various instances, but their weapons were always holstered and never flaunted in my face.

based on the video... is it against the law for people to call the police now if they are concerned? I don't think so.
Just because they have 'the right' to carry their guns, it does not over ride the right of citizens to call the police on them to investigate.

I know that there are some here who will take great offence to this, but it is not meant to be personal in anyway, but I think the gun culture in the USA is just nuts, I mean really nuts. Raised on cowboy and Indian movies, the wild west and all that crap.

No offense taken, mike. It is nuts and the culture and thought process the citizens of this country have is out of control. People don't realize just how much gun culture impacts accidental and intentional shootings. They claim that "gun control does and cannot work", but that is quite the load as we've seen other countries manage to control guns easier than the US can. And no, it's not solely because of the size of the country and how many people live here. There are other issues that are blatantly ignored because of the silly mindset that gun ownership is a right.

All you are doing is controlling one form of violence for another when you try to ban something. That is why Europe has knife stabbinga rivaling the rest of the world and still has gun violence from the bad guys.

Good job Europe for making millions helpless to violence. Every politician who took that right away from Svetlana victim needs to be in jail for manslaughter.

Has zero to with cowboy movies. And a RIGHT to not be a victim. Always said when the president gives up all his security and cops and military can't use weapons anymore will be glad to give up my weapons also.

All people are held accountable for the actions they take using there guns no less then a police officer. And maybe even more so for a civilian.

I know when I conceal carry I am not happy if I can't at least draw my weapon and shoot at least two people everyday for a good night's sleep.

And just to clarify for the slow people who might be reading this that is called a joke.
