Thoughts on Homosexuality?

I don't care if you're gay and want marry/be with your male partner, but don't shove it down my throat personally please. What I hate personally is the gays that impose their views on it and accuse everyone of "homophobia." What about you? What do you think of homosexuality in your eyes?

Next you’ll be telling us you’re voting for Trump. I know you can’t because you’re in Canada, but yeah… :p

To answer the question, have no problem with it since I’m in a homosexual relationship myself. Me and my partner have been together for 12 years. We don’t shove anything down anyone’s throats (except each others, lol). We have never accused anyone of homophobia and we aren’t you’re stereotypical gays (not flamboyant or anything like that), if you met either of us IRL you’d see we were just like “normal” “straight” guys. There’s way more of us low-key gays than the stereotypes you’re referring to.

It's disturbing you make these blanket statements about groups you know nothing about and always have a negative viewpoint because of that ignorance. Maybe try and understand things before you espouse your ill-informed views? Just possibly you might learn something.

As for my thoughts on homosexuality -- Love is love, it makes no difference who you love, it matters that you love. Some of the greatest people I know are gay, bi or lesbians (including some incredible people right here at OT :)). I myself am a trans woman attracted to women. It makes absolutely no difference in who a person is just because they like someone of the same gender as them.

I have no issues with someone's sexual orientation. It's normal and there's nothing wrong with it.

Me either, who cares what people do privately in their own bedrooms?

Sing it sister!

It's a politically correct world so one cannot be 100% honest about one's opinions anymore. While I will reserve comment I will be reading this thread......ought to get interesting methinks.;)

You can feel however you want. You can tell us all about how you think its icky and gross if you want. :P

It's very sad that other people feel the need to impose on other people's lives. Just imagine what would happen if it were reversed. Laws being passed to prevent heterosexuals from getting married, from adopting children...

That would be a great episode of Black Mirror!

No not icky or gross because it doesn't bother me one single bit. I had a lesbian friend once and have worked alongside gay men. But I am not so open minded on trans issues, and I'll just have to leave it at that.

As long as you don't impose your beliefs on trans people, that's completely fine. You have every right to feel the way you feel!

Just remember that needs to work both ways, funny how it seldom does though. Soon as you voice an opinion that is not popular one is branded a homophobe and a hater. So much for free speech. (it really no longer exists)

That's not really what I'm talking about and you know free speech still DOES exist. You aren't getting arrested for speaking your thoughts, are you? When's the last time you were pelted by a rock for expressing your views? When's the last time you got decked in the mouth for speaking your mind?

It's fine for people to voice their opinions on any side, and all of those sides need to be prepared for verbal backlash.

It's when trans people's civil rights are taken away, when they can't maintain their livelihoods, and when they are beaten and murdered for who they are that becomes a problem. Voting for politicians who have the power to maintain what is happening in this world is when it becomes a problem. I consider that to be direct support for the endangerment of trans people.

"the gays". Gee, that isn't stereotyping. They are humans, like us all. I don't care what orientation someone is. To do so is petty and ill informed.

I know many people who dislike trans people but are still amicable in their means of expressing it. I don't mind people that don't like trans people, provided civil discourse doesn't give way to misinformation and idiocy, as is so often the case these days.

By all means, please explain what it is about trans issues that has you so upset.

Who says that I'm "so upset"? Here we go right away with the preconceived misconceptions. Right from the opening bell I am being type cast. No...not taking the bait. At least not for now, because I'm not in the mood for a nasty name calling fight.

I don't think that's what she meant. We could just re-phrase it as "Why do you disagree with it?"

Of course, I agree. There's no need for Ad Hominem Fallacy (name calling). Just interesting to see opposing views, that's all. :)
