so the other day someone shocked me by saying they read oliver twist, but hated the book- and especially the character of oliver, even going as far to say that it was one of charles dickens worst novels

I love oliver twist and think the books great, the musical's great, the story's great, what are your thoughts on it?. on not only oliver himself but the novel

I don't know how people can hate Oliver Twist! Please, sir, I want some more! All time classic, for sure!

I hated Great Expectations so much I never read another thing. But Miss Havisham was a great character. So...Oliver Twist gets a recommendation?

Ditto on Great Ex though I sometimes wonder if I should give it another shot to be fair. It was a book I studied in high school and not by my best ever English teacher.
