Thousands of spiders filmed on giant web in Brazil

Erick Reis was leaving an engagement party in Santo Antonio da Plantina in Brazil when he glanced up and saw thousands of spiders surrounding him in mid-air.



It is the stuff of nightmares for people who suffer from arachnophobia - being surrounded by thousands of spiders.



But a 20-year-old web designer from Brazil was faced with the crawling arachnids when he left an engagement party in Santo Antonio da Plantina.



Erick Reis' video shows the spiders spread out on huge webs between poles, giving the appearance of the insects falling from the sky.



They are thought to be colonial spiders that live in large communes and catch prey in their huge webs, Wired reported.
