Do you shop at thrift stores? Garage / Yard Sales?

Yep. Never know what you might find.

I will look for antique jewelery, out of print books, or just whatever catches my eye.

Less than a month ago, I found a really nice suit for my son. He needed one for homecoming. And when a kid outgrows things so fast, I hate to spend $100 or more for a suit. This one fit like it was made for him for $15. I was a happy princess....

I do! I don't normally like buying things second hand because you don't know if it'll work properly or not, but when you can't find what you want in regular stores, sometimes you got no choice.

Exactly! Once a month a local thrift store sends out a $5 gift certificate to everyone in the mail. So I'm in there at least once a month.. Even if its just to buy something that is $5 and under.

Love both of them, and I don't go enough. A few of my favorite t-shirts are from thrift stores. In NYC they are on every block, too, it's pretty great.

I haven't been to either lately so not really.

I've been to garage sells before, but it has been a while. Whenever our neighborhood has a garage sell, I usually go over there and check it out. I've found a few things at flee markets and yard sales that would have been much more expensive having bought it brand new from a store.

I love both! Except I can't usually make it to garage sales, since they usually run for a day. But I love secondhand stores, especially for jewellery and clothing (although some of it's crap.) Even if it doesn't look too good at first, you can tear it apart and make it into something different. If that doesn't work, well, it didn't cost much in the first place anyway, did it?

Not that often, but when I do, it can be a whole lot of fun.

We bought the biggest t.v. at one (and it works great!) that we've ever owned for only $40. Not that we've ever owned any sort of fancy t.v.'s and a lot of people would think the television was a piece of junk, but for us, it was amazing.

I'll go to thrift shops or 2nd hand shops though I don't tend to actually go to any yard sales.
