TNA Wrestling

The Nasty Boyz are a very old tag team from the 90's and likely 80's they are without a doubt washed up, look at them! Their like an inflated version of Team 3D and to be honest they weren't very good in the ring in their prime either.

I didn't realize that they copied it COMPLETELY when I read the spoilers, it was a stupid rehash of Montreal but Kurt played the role very well even saying I don't need this, screw this I'll just join the WWE which added a bit of realism to it.

I have been abit out of touch with the recent shows thanks to Virgin +1 taking impact off *shakes fist* However was reading up yesterday. Seems like they are wasting time with the oldies.. just talking etc. this show is called Total Nonstop ACTION! doesn't seem to be much action going on recently.

You cannot build a wrestling promotion off of new stars alone - it just doesn't work. WCW only got big and competitive when they brought in Hulk Hogan. The WWE (then WWF) ironically only became a global force when they brought in Hulk Hogan.

Even the WWE is having to bring back old faces to drive ratings - the wrestling world is struggling at the moment. Rehashing the screw job is completely fine - are you not excited to see how this could pan out? Too many people are expecting too much too soon - I honestly think that if you're one of those, then the best policy is to just give it time. Voice your objections now, but if Hulk does manage to turn this company into a viable competitor (as he did with WCW), then you'll be eating your words in a few years time.

The premise of this rant? Give.It.Time

This I definitely need to address. Not a single one of TNA's homegrown stars could put forward a believable promo, which is more important in my opinion than wrestling skills themselves. Austin was a good wrestler, but a KILLER promo guy. Hogan was an average wrestler, but arguably the best promo guy pre-99.

TNA's only good promo guys are 'foreign' talents like Sting, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash....AJ is just starting to show promise with his promos, as he's spending more time around the veterans.

Tna is not a brand new company. They have built up a good good foundation. I don't see why they are now bringing in the oldies.

They got rid of Petey Williams and Lance Hoyt - amongst others (Hugh mistake in my oppinion)

Why don't they start using Raven?! What about Raven?

He is the best guy for Promos. Beer money are also good.

People have been saying for a few years that TNA is a competitor for WWE. Why all of a sudden do they have to go and change it all.

TNA might as well be a new company - they've been stuck in the same rut for about 2 years now. And they are a new company to markets outside of the US, that hadn't broadcast TNA before. They've not progressed as a viable competitor for years. You can have the best talent and writers in the world - if you don't have some big names to help drive your promotion, you ain't going nowhere

They have had big names. And they have become big in my eyes. I remember watching the first show. To go from that to what it is now, has been huge steps.

They have and have had big names: Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy, Kevin Nash, Raven, Kurt Angle, Cage, Sabu, DDP, B.G. James, Jerry Lynnm, Shane Douglas, I can go on.

^ Yes, and not one of the stars you have listed are homegrown TNA talent - all are ex workers of WWE/WCW/ECW - the big 3. TNA has always relied on the big names - to grow, it needs bigger

Just read an article saying TNA has plans to go permanently on Monday Nights... oh well I plan on buying the Rise and Fall Of TNA DVD

lol I'll reiterate - have some faith. If you're a huge WWE fan, that's fine - hope for TNA success, as WWE is at its best in a war

No doubt about it but it just won't happen. They got a 1.5 which is amazing for them against RAW but that was when their was alot of hype toward it and everyone had plans to watch it as a way to kick Vince in the *** ... I see them doing okay but not as competitors.

Yep, but during the Hogan segment, they peaked at 1.9 (2.2m viewers) which is TNA's highest ever audience. For the last couple of weeks, they've been averaging between 1.2-1.35; these are awesome, when you think that TNA was scoring around 1 or even less before Hogan and Bischoff. Things won't change over night

The Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff reign in TNA Wrestling is proving to be a fruitful one for television ratings.

The Jan. 28 broadcast of TNA Impact did a 1.4 rating on Spike TV, setting a new record for the time slot. An estimated 1,867,000 people tuned in to watch the show.

The 1.4 was plenty to top the WWE Superstars broadcast on WGN America at 8 p.m. That show did a 1.0 rating, which is strong for it’s own right.

An estimated 962,000 viewers tuned in to watch according to a PWInsider report.

Meanwhile, everybody is waiting on the announcement that TNA is moving Impact to Monday nights to go head to head with WWE Raw.
