Too much stuff?

When I moved out on my own, my wife and I moved into a two-bedroom trailer. We didn't have a lot of stuff, and so, one of the rooms largely "sat there," and we never used it. Fast forward a few years, and now, we live in a house with three bedrooms, a garage, and a basement. We've lived at this house for a few years now, but we honestly still haven't found a purpose for everything in it. The basement and garage are exclusively used for storage (I don't park my car in there, for example), and we have two rooms we don't use at all (one of them does aesthetically look like a study, but we don't actually use it). For the most part, we use the bedroom and the living room, and that's it. I imagine that'll change when we have a kid though.

You should park your car in the garage. No frozen / frosty windows on your car when its super cold out. Also the sun isn't beating down on your car 24/7 so your paint will last longer. Also your car stays cleaner so you don't have to wash it as much.

I have less stuff at home. I want to make the environment clean and have space for other things. Having the place clustered has never been helpful to me for any reason at all.

Same here.

It happened in real life to my grandma. She rented out one of her houses out in the country and the tenant destroyed it. Let her dogs shit in the carpet. The lady never took the trash out. She stored it in 3 bedrooms next to the kitchen. It was up to the ceiling until it spilled out into the kitchen. Half of the kitchen was filled with trash. There was fly and roach shit all over the walls. They never mowed the lawn like they agreed on the lease to do so. So the grass grew way high. I tried mowing it but ran over a hose almost tearing up the lawnmower. She trash and filth littered all over the lawn. It took my grandma a whole year to evict the bitch after taking her to court. Cleaning that up was a nightmare. She had to rent a dumpster and have it put in the front yard and had to hire a clean up crew to clean it out. Horrible. That is disrespectful, shitty, and immoral to do that to someone else's property.

Inhuman to live in those conditions, actually. I think it's a bona-fide mental illness.

Wow I'll bet the house had to be completely gutted and renovated after that. Such a shame.

Sounds like it to me.

I do have a lot of stuff, but I will say I keep things tidy. I have much more space in my living area now than I did a couple of years ago, since we moved into a bigger place last year. I do need to get a new shelf for my video games since I ran out of space for all my games a bit ago. xD

With it being me and my 4 kids that live in the house at the moment, the house does seem a little cluttered even though I have been clearing things out. We do have work being done on the house at the moment with plaster on the walls being replaced so everything is all over the place until that is complete and it is driving me insane! Hoping it's finished by next week and I can get things sorted out.

Sounds like a nightmare to have your whole house turned upside down. Hope it gets finished soon.

I'm working on decluttering some of the stuff I have that doesn't get much use out of me anyways. Well, I'm not working on it yet but when I stop procrastinating I have quite a bit of things I could probably sell, mostly various DC Comics collectibles and stuff of that nature.

Ah, the hoarders most famous excuse: I need to sell all these items before I can get rid of them.

Just kidding
