Topic & Post Limits?

Topic Limit
Members can now make a total of 30 topics per day. This has been up'd from 15. The posts per day allowance is still set to 100. Remember if you become a VIP you will not have this limit and can make as much posts/topics as you want daily.

Just to clarify: To become a VIP on this forum you need 2,000 posts.

What do you think of this?

Don't quite understand this. I get they might want to stop spam but the whole point of forums is for people to post!

Wouldn't this drive people away? It can't be much of a forum of people can't post much per day.

I tried it for a little while but it's kind of pointless for a small forum.

This discussion was not aimed at any forum. The purpose of this thread was to discuss topic and posts limits. I have seen this on other forums as well.

Why would a forum want to limit the amount of posts a member can post? Like Stormrider said, the whole point of forums is for people to post!
If I was posting around a forum one day and I got hit with an error message saying I cannot post anymore that day, I'd probably just log out and not come back. What a turn off.

I think that the special rank, rank color and access to a hidden forum is enough to inspire people to make quality posts and be active in hope of being "promoted." There's no need to place harsh limits the regular members just to make the "VIP"s feel superior. Thats just my opinion though.
