'The tunnel, which was discovered in January but first reported by CBC News last week, was dug near York University’s Keele campus and the Rexall Centre, a major tennis venue that's set to host part of this summer's Pan Am Games, as well as the high-profile Rogers Cup tournament.

"It is simply two guys who just wanted to dig a cave," said Toronto police spokesman Victor Kwong.'

These days.. I am sorry but I just don't believe that they only wanted to 'build a cave'

I agree; in this day & age, there's really no reason for 2 individuals who aren't either utility or transit or service workers to be digging a tunnel/cave near a major sporting venue.

From another source:
The bunker, discovered in January by a conservation officer in a densely wooded area, is located 25 meters (27 yards) from the fence of the Rexall Centre, which is to host tennis events for the summer's Pan Am Games.

Inside, police say they found plywood wall supports, a generator and a sump pump, as well as a rosary with a Remembrance Day poppy nailed to a wall. Canada commemorates its war veterans on Remembrance Day.

Police said the chamber was almost 2 meters (2 yards) high, 86 centimeters (34 inches) wide and 10 meters (33 feet) long.

The pair told investigators they built the tunnel for "personal reasons" and that their explanation has been verified and the case closed with no charges.

Methinks these 2 took the term "Man Cave" a little TOO literally...
