Truly afraid

Last time I was afraid was when I got the call that my dad wouldn't make it through the night. I was hours away when I got the call and just kept praying he wouldn't die before I got there. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to thank him for being my best friend and the being the best dad in the world and how much I loved him. He passed away 35 minutes after I got there. Thank goodness he 'hung in there' against all odds and waited for me.
