You must some online friends and it is highly possible you've have never seen them face to face.

Do you trust them, when you are talking to them or dealing with them?

How do you judge trustworthyness?

I also trust everyone and sometimes it has bitten me in the butt. I can tell from reading posts who I would want to associate with and who I wouldn't. I don't trust anyone who I don't know that right away sends me a friendship request and then asks for my private e-mail address. If they don't know me, why on earth would I even consider giving them my e-mail address? Very few select people have ever been given my private e-mail address.

I am always paranoid. I tend to think the worst in people and that someone is always out to screw me over.

Once a person has established a bond with me and Ive gotten to know their personality, I might let the walls down a little bit.

This sums it up for me.

I'm kind of the same way. The Internet is not exactly like the real world, where you can trust anyone you meet I'm always a little wary when someone new joins up on my forum and I don't know that well. Gaining a person's trust at all takes time, just like anything else.
