Two 15-year-old boys have been charged with the murder of a homeless man who was found dead in a churchyard.

The youths were arrested on Saturday by officers investigating the death of 59-year-old George Akers in Darlington.

A member of the public found Mr Akers' body under a tree in the grounds of St Cuthbert's Church on June 12.

His death was not initially regarded as suspicious until a post-mortem examination revealed he had sustained multiple internal injuries. Officers later said he was the victim of a sustained and brutal attack.

A Durham Police spokesman said the boys, who are from Darlington, have both been charged with murder.

They are due before Darlington Youth Court.

Did I read the entire article?

Does it really matter how they found them? They got the murderers and that's all that matters. I'm sure there would have been witnesses, DNA, the boys acting suspicously afterwards etc etc.

With todays technology and forensics, it is unlikely for the wrong person to be convicted of a crime they did not commit, especially of this degree of seriousness.

Unless they say how they determined the murderers, I will not blindly follow / agree with an article that does not provide enough information.

I just love all the comments from those much more civilized people stating they should be hanged before they even go to trial and prove anything. I mean at least let's wait for a verdict before throwing that around. I fear for the people who have those people on the jury. If it was up to them they would hang you first and then go out and try to prove they are guilty.
