No I havent. Is it better that windows?
That's a huge debate.
Windows is great because nearly everything that exists software-wise and hardware-wise will work with Windows. No issues really and it's easy to use and constantly updated. It's the mainstream norm and Microsoft holds such a huge chunk of the OS industry it's considered the standard.
Linux on the other hand is not so user-friendly. Now Ubuntu has come a long way and is the go-to choice for those switching because of its usability and the fact that you don't need to know how to use the CLI in order to install things or run updates. Steam has games that you can play on linux but that is not wide spread and a lot of AA games are not released on Linux so that part kinda sucks.
My only issue is that a lot of hardware manufacturers such as NVIDIA and AMD have not released official drivers for Linux so you are left with what comes with the distro or 3rd party devs that have created software to help things run. Which can have somewhat undesirable effects.
I personally use both but because of my software background and that I deal in cyber security I tend to go for a more advanced OS.
You can run Windows programs on Linux but need to download WINE which allows you to run the programs in "boxes" per say kinda like self-contained sandboxes if you will.
My biggest advice is this: Download Virtual box and run Ubuntu that way. Make sure it's something you want to install. Make sure that the programs you use on Windows have a comparable "friend" on Linux and always always make sure that you have security settings enabled on Linux machines just like you would on Windows.
So for me it's 50/50. Just depends on what I need it for. I have dual boot for Windows and Parrot OS which is a pen-testing distro similar to Kali Linux.
Hope this helps to some degree?
