The UK is bracing for summer holiday chaos as gale-force winds and heavy rain dominate the weekend.

Some parts of the country will see winds of up to 50 mph and 60 mm ( 2.36 inches) of rain.

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Friday and Saturday – disrupting school holiday plans for many.

The heaviest showers and strongest winds will be in the south east, battering the coast.

Temperatures are set to remain in the high teens and early 20's over the weekend.

The theme will continue on Sunday but conditions will clear up early next week.
