Do you ever get a customer at your work that has really bad speech habits and they spend more time stuck on "Um, well...uh uh ummmm, uhh....welll uuhhhhhh durrrrrr" and they just sit there doing it for 5 minutes straight and can't spit out what they want to say? Does this irritate you at all?

It happens in retail all the time. It's a little annoying but I try not to let it bother me because I can be awkward too. But half the time I'll have zero clue what they're asking me for. It'll just be like, "uhhhh it's like ummm. what do you call it? I think it's blue though" Like... WHAT? That doesn't help me at all.

It really annoys me. I get a few too many of these people on the phone just stuck on the loop with the "ums" and the "uhhhhs". I got a guy on the phone today that was doing it so bad that I hung up on him. All he was doing constantly was "uhhhhh.....ummmmm.....uhhhhh", he had no other vocabulary. We were going on 5 minutes of him acting like an idiot. Our phones were flooding with more and more calls from other customers while I was dealing with him. He wouldn't spit it out. It came to the point, he was wasting my time and his. I think if a person is going to call someone, they want something, but they have bad speech habits, I think its best to write down what they want and what they're going to say on a notepad and read it off of that when they call.

There is no customers where I work but I do see it all the time whenever I am standing in line at a place. Like people who cannot decide what they want to order at a food place.

When I was student teaching, the teacher I was assigned to had a paddle/sign called the "Like-uhm-er". He would give it to a student on one side of the room and then have another student on the other side of the room answer a question, and every time that student used like, um, or er, the student with the sign would hold it up each time. Hilarity ensued and it gave the students a chance to understand how often they use filler words in their daily speech.

:haha: Reminds me of myself at TacoBell yesterday: I have not been to a TacoBell for a long time & they had a pretty standard menu for a long time, but in recent years they keep changing things regularly. I used to know what to order....a Tostada Supreme. Well, that does not exist any more....so I was trying to describe what I wanted to see if they could make one for me. The girl had a very pleasant & helpful attitude, good thing that the place was not crowded.
I ended up with a "Crunch Wrap".... okay, but....:happy3:

Hey you should have asked me, Crunchwrap Supreme is the only thing I order there! Every. Time.:yummy:

That's more stupidity than anything else. They'll wait in line for ten minutes and not even glance at the menu once when they could have been deciding that entire time but now they have to hold the whole line up while they debate back and forth on what they're actually gonna order.

Actually, it had all of the 'stuff' on it that the Tostada Supreme had & was really good except that the crunchy fried corn tortilla was what I had my mind set on. Interesting the way they're folding that flour tortilla up on the Crunchwrap.
The other choice she gave me was Mexican Pizza so I just "flipped a coin". :D I'm going to have to go online & 'study' their current menu.
