Uniforms

Do you think it’s fair for employers to mandate uniforms if their employees have to pay for them? Why or why to?

Do you like wearing a uniform?

I think that if companies make it a requirement for uniforms they should at least pay for the first couple of sets. It's only fair. Sometimes when people start new jobs, they don't necessarily have the funds to pay for that stuff until some money comes in. So yeah, companies should provide them. If someone needs extra ones later on down the line then they can pay for them.

.....and, to go a step beyond; The company my husband worked for required uniforms (coveralls) BUT, the company actually furnished uniforms and also the frequent & regular laundering of them.
Very practical since this was a dirty, greasy shop environment.

I really want to wear my clothing. In school, sometimes the heat doesn’t work and we are sitting there shivering until it comes back. Mainly that I couldn’t dress warmly because I had to wear proper uniform.
